Our Story
Where it all began.
After meeting on a Kettlebell course back in 2018, we both realised we had a shared passion for helping women and lifting heavy things! We stayed in touch and worked together on a number of projects over the years, building and sharing our knowledge of health and fitness.
We spoke in depth of our own struggles, Nat with her weight and health, Nicky with injury and menopause. It was from these conversations we started to research local fitness facilities that were just for women, quickly realising there was nothing exclusively for female specific training. SWC was born.
We knew we wanted to create something where women felt empowered and excited! It was important to us to change the way women felt about exercise and their bodies.
Our exciting space in the heart of Caversham is more than just a fitness space, We are a community of women from all walks of life, supporting and encouraging each other to thrive and become stronger.
We celebrate gains, whether it is strength, knowledge, community or friendships. Our club offers a safe space for women, by women.
Our Mission & Values

Mission
To make weight lifting accessible to all women without fear and judgment! We know: most of us do not want bulging biceps or massive thunderous thighs. But that doesn't mean you should skip the weight room. Lifting weights has some surprising perks that you can’t get from cardio alone. Research shows that just TWO strength training sessions a week can help you burn more fat, sculpt lean muscle, feel more energized and SO much more!

Community
We believe in empowering real women to get real results. Our local community of women coming from different ages, backgrounds, cultures and lifestyles empower each other to push back the boundaries along with our real women coaches who show you how to thrive by taking back control of your health and fitness.

Knowledge and Education
Knowledge is power. We provide our members with relevant and up to date information, focusing on female health and physiology. Our ongoing professional development allows us to provide you with the tools you need to live a fitter, stronger and healthier life. Working closely with our affiliated health and wellbeing experts to bring you educational talks and workshops throughout the year to support your ongoing journey.

Nat is such a friendly and hugely knowledgeable coach, she’s coached and guided me in a way that impacts so many areas, physical, mental, nutrition, womens health. She really takes the time to listen to what I need or want to do and has tailored my workouts accordingly whilst slotting into with my daily life. I love the fact that she knows when and how to push me out of my comfort zone, beyond the ‘I can’t do it!!’ zone.

The 10 week programme I did with Nat was the perfect challenge for me, helping me to build confidence in my body, my own abilities and really being able to see what I could push my body and mind to achieve. I’m so proud of what I have achieved with Nat, to feel and be strong, to be a girl that’s lifts heavy things…and I’m very excited to see what else I can do achieve working with Nat. Had it not been for Nat and the community of strong women she has been building I’m sure that I wouldn’t have been able to achieve what I have so far….and importantly had immense fun in the process.
